The Holidays are here and the new maps came out today.  I’m happy to say we finally got some new covers for the season instead of them relying on the old tired recycled covers.  Disneyland features the beautifully transformed Christmas castle while DCA is showcasing the new Season of Light show.  My only complaint – I’m not too happy with the new bar across the bottom advertising the Twitter and Facebook pages.  There is plenty of room on the inside to advertise that! 🙂

The bridge between HalloweenTime and HolidayTime seems to be getting shorter and shorter as each year passes.  The DLR has released the new maps today which are the same covers as the HalloweenTime maps but with different color bars at the top and with the removal of the HalloweenTime events on this inside.  These maps should be out only to November 9th as the HolidayTime starts November 10th!  Happy Collecting!

Normally, in the past, I would tweet the Disneyland Today account and inquire about the latest edition of the “Buena Vista Bugle” and they would usually respond almost instantly informing me they were working on the next issue and it should be out soon.  But for the past month, I’ve been tweeting them only to occasionally receive a response stating they were looking into my inquiry and then receive no follow up.   The last issue was released over 4 months ago which is abnormally long between issues.

I visited the parks yesterday and decide to take my normal routes of where the bugles were normally held (the stands and the cafe) only to find the metal newsstands are nowhere to be found and the cafe counters are sadly empty.  I decided to inquire with a couple employees including the one at the wait-time board along with a employee in the DCA City Hall and they both confirmed my fears – The Buena Vista Bugle is dead (they called it discontinued but I’m going with dead).

I hate to admit that I saw it coming but still sad to see it go.  RIP Buena Vista Bugle!  It was fun collecting you while it lasted.

Sorry, I’m late on this one!  Here is the map for Mickey’s Halloween Party 2016.  I’m happy to see they finally changed the cover to show a full body Mickey and a pumpkin instead of just his face.  Changes are always good in my book.

Inside Scan: Disneyland

Well, that was quick.  The last maps were only out three days as the HalloweenTime maps came out today.  Disneyland again went with the same cover they’ve been using for years.  Can we get something different?  Perhaps the large Mickey pumpkin with the castle in the background?  DCA instead switched it up and decided to promote the goodbye of Tower of Terror in it’s current glory before being remolded to a Guardians of the Galaxy themed attraction in early 2017.  I’m assuming these maps will stick around until the HalloweenTime events ends at the end of October.

Well the 60th Anniversary Celebration finally ended yesterday which means we finally get new maps.  The first ones since June and it seems like it has been forever since I updated this site.  Disneyland went back to the Chewbacca cover from the beginning of 2016 while DCA decided to feature the new Soarin’ on the cover.  Please note, these maps will probably only be available today (Tuesday, Sep 6th) through Thursday (Sep 8th) as the parks should release the HalloweenTime maps this Friday when the event officially kicks off!

With the debut of the new Frozen Musical today at DCA (which replaced Aladdin), we get new maps.  Disneyland is now featuring Star Wars villain Kylo Ren and DCA is of course featuring the star of the new show – Elsa.  I’m assuming these maps should be around until Mid-June when the new Soarin’ ride opens.

A new DCA map was released yesterday.   Same Mater cover but now with a yellow bar across the top instead of the light purple.  Changes inside include the removal of any reference to the Mad T Party along with the replacing of the Frozen singalong in the old Muppet Theater with something called “Sunset Showcase.”  Does anyone have any idea what that is?
