Since the Food & Wine Festival at DCA kicks off today, we got some new maps!   Other than the recycled Lunar New Year Map, I’m really loving the covers this year.  They’re all original and all fun.  Disneyland features the Mickey Mix Magic Show and the DCA features a family enjoying the Food & Wine Festival.  I’m assuming these will be around until April 23rd when the Festival ends.   Happy Collecting!

Now that the Lunar New Year celebration ended yesterday, we got some new maps today and I’m happy to see some new original covers.  Disneyland features the original lead float from the Soundsational Parade and DCA features a daytime shot of Guardians of the Galaxy.

These maps should only be out for the next two weeks as we should receive at least a new DCA map reflecting the “Food & Wine Festival” on March 1st.

The Maps listings have also been updated.  The link on the official site show the date range on these maps as 01/25-02/17 so my timeline seems to be fitting so far:

January 7th – January 24th – Train & Pixar Pier Maps

January 25th – February 17th – Both Parks update maps to reflect Get Your Ears On official kickoff at Disneyland and the Lunar New Years’ Event at DCA (Lunar New Year ends Feb 17th).

February 18th – February 28th – DCA updates map to no longer reflect the Lunar New Year Event. (Possible change to Disneyland too?)

March 1st – April 23rd – DCA updates map to reflect the Food & Wine Festival Event at DCA. (Possible change to Disneyland too?)

New maps are out today reflecting the “Get Your Ears On” celebration on the Disneyland map along with “Lunar New Year” on DCA’s map.  I love the Disneyland cover even though I read online it’s a picture from the WDW parade.  The DCA map is sadly the same exact cover from last year.  I was hoping for something new.

In a interesting note, on the Disneyland website in the coding of the link to the maps show them labeled as 01-07 – 01-24.  So, my theory of having new maps on the 18th for the debut of Mickey’s Mix Magic nighttime show is blown.  I’m guessing they will just now update the paper show guides instead.

Based on this finding, here is my updated guess of a timeline for new maps:

January 7th – January 24th – Current Train & Pixar Pier Maps

January 25th – February 17th – Both Parks update maps to reflect the return of the Soundsational Parade at Disneyland and the Lunar New Years’ Event at DCA (Lunar New Year ends Feb 17th).

February 18th – February 28th – Both Parks update maps to no longer reflect the Lunar New Year Event.

March 1st – April 23rd – Both Parks update maps to reflect the Food & Wine Festival Event at DCA.

Sorry for the lack of update.  I’m still waiting on scans of the insides but thought I would share the covers for the January maps that came out on the 7th.  I’m assuming these should last until approximately January 18th.

January 18th is when Mickey’s Mix Magic night show is supposed to begin at Disneyland so I would assume there will be a new map to reflect that but  January 25th is when Soundsational Parade returns to Disneyland and the Lunar New Year event begins at DCA so we should get new maps to reflect that.  I think we’ll have a busy beginning of the year for map collecting.  Here is my guess on the activity:

January 7th – January 17th – Current Train & Pixar Pier Maps

January 18th – January 24th – Disneyland Update to reflect Mickey’s Mix Magic (possible DCA update too to reflect it on the inside highlights)

January 25th – February 17th – Both Parks Update to reflect Soundsational and Lunar New year (Lunar New Year ends Feb 17th)

Wow, just like that, another year of Disneyland Map Collecting has come and is almost gone.  The HolidayTime Maps came out yesterday and they look great.  Something a little different for a change.  Always love to see the castle covered in snow and the vintage Mickey & Minnie is a breath of fresh air for the DCA cover.

The November Gap maps are out and the parks continue to surprise me with some the best covers for these limited time maps.  I wish they would use this much variety for their normal maps that are out for months.  These maps will only be available for 8 Days (November 1st through November 8th) to bridge the time between the Halloween Festivities (ended October 31st) and the Holiday Time Festivities which begins November 9th.

Finally got around to adding a scan of the Mickey’s Halloween Party map for this year.

I’m loving the new Halloween Time maps.  It’s actually something different than the normal Haunted Mansion Holiday cover.  For DCA, although they used Dracula Mater last year, at least it’s an actual picture of him in CarsLand instead of a cartoon picture.

I thought we would get new maps for the three days between Pixar Fest ended and HalloweenTime began but it looks like the resort just used the Pixar Fest maps throughout those three days.

As for the insides, that blank spot from where ‘a bugs land’ once stood really stands out on the map and such a random shotout to the Snow White ride on the inside cover of the Disneyland map.  Happy Collecting!
